Ballybunion 10km & Half Marathon:

West Limerick A.C. members of all ages were running in the popular seaside town of Ballybunion,  Co.Kerry this Saturday.

The event began at 12pm with a large number of our juveniles running the 1km race around the centre of the town.

The was followed at 1pm by the start of the 10k and Half Marathon races.

This is a challenging, undulating course so well done to everyone who ran.

Our members were led home by Kate Murray who finished 2nd female. Kate was followed by John O Connell, Kevin O’Donoghue, Christina Hartnett, Tara Carr, JP Aherne, Mary Healy, Mary Ita O Connor,  Patsy Collins, Nora Keogh and Mary Liston.

Padraig O’Donnell and Martin Liston ran in the half marathon.

Streets of Kilkenny 5k

Kilkenny City Harriers had one of their best races yet on Thursday evening. Over 900 athletes ran in this event which was win by Andrew Coscoran in 14.14.

From a West Limerick perspective, one athlete in particular caught the eye.

Club member Ide Nic Dhomhnaill was first woman home , breaking the course record and setting a pb of 15:48. 

This was a huge result for Ide and congratulations to her from all in West Limerick A.C.
