On Sunday at the Limerick Regional Athletics Hub we had a very memorable club day. This was the 5k event for our Couch to 5k members and also for our more experienced club members. Thank you to our club volunteers , the event could not have taken place without you.
The 8 week couch to 5k was hugely positive with close to 120 members running the club 5k. On the day we had five races with volunteers helping to pace the races. It was fantastic to see participants being supported by friends and family members.
We as a club are incredibly proud of everyone who completed their first 5km race. It is a big milestone in any athlete’s journey. The event was very rewarding for all involved.
The club would like to thank our coaches over the past 8 weeks. Tara Carr, Olivia Fitzgerald, Susan Lowe, Sean McAuliffe and Kevin O Donoghue helped train, support and encourage all of our new club members to their 5k goal.
Club training will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays up until our Christmas break. We encourage everyone to continue their fitness journey for the next few weeks and into 2024.
