With the imment arrival of the new Regional Athletics Hub to Newcastle West , West Limerick Athletics Club are undertaking to put a club plan in place to grow athletics in our community for our current and future members.
We currently cater for 310 members of which 160 are juvenile and 150 are adults. We cater for all age groups and have a very active Fit4Life group.
The Newcastle West Regional Athletics Hub is an 8 lane 400m state of the art, track and field facility. This exceptional development is a result of years of hard work undertaken by Limerick Council, our local and national representatives and the steering committee led by Jim Galvin.
Through fundraising, donations and a Sports Capital Grant, West Limerick A.C. and St. Marys A.C. have worked together to invest in new equipment for the new state of the art facility.
We want to continue to improve as a club and what we can offer to our communities. Should our members wish to run, jump, throw or walk we want to facilitate them.
We are asking current, past and possible members of West Limerick Athletics Club to send us your thoughts, ideas and possible ways that you can help us improve.
You may be new to our community or have competed/coached in Athletics in the past. You may be a teacher in primary or secondary education who has an interest in athletics for your students. We would like to hear from you.
Our club ethos and philosophy is to give each club member the opportunity to be the best athlete that they want to be.
In time we intend to host coaching courses with Athletics Ireland at the facility.
