Shandrum A.C. 4 Mile

Killian Lynch was in action Friday evening in Newtownshandrum in the Shandrum A.C. 4 Mile road race and finished in fourth place with a time of 21:42.

Com Mulcahy finished 27th and followed closely behind Con was Damien Roche (38th) both men ran excellent races in what was considered struggling running weather conditions, Malachy McCarthy also had an exceptional run and was our fourth male home for the club.

Well done to Michelle Lenihan and Niamh Humphreys who also ran the race and ran it brilliantly.

It’s always excellent to see our women’s team out competing in the singlet well done girls on a fantastic race.

Irish National Senior Track & Field Championships

The 150th National Track and Field championships were dogged by very strong winds and occasional squally showers which meant that personal bests were never likely for any athletes competing.

Our very own Declan Guina took on the men’s 5000M C race and had a phenomenal run finishing 12th with a time of 16:13:13.

Declan is a credit to the club and it’s brilliant to see the West Limerick singlet in amongst familiar singlets around Ireland, Well Done Dec!

Dromcollogher carnival 4 Mile road race

It was a West Limerick trio in the Dromcollogher 4 mile last night in wet and blustery conditions.

Aogán MacDomhnall came away with the bragging rights and also the perpetual trophy which was previously held by Sean Doyle of North Cork A.C. who also holds the course record.

Karl Lenihan was in second place and followed behind Karl was Killian Lynch.

It was great to have all three podium positions clinched by West Limerick A.C. Athletes and is a really strong indication for what’s to come for the rest of the year from the club.
