West Limerick A.C. Notes 11/3/2020


County 4 mile Sunday 15th March:
West Limerick AC will host this year’s County 4 Mile race next Sunday 15 th March in
Drumcollogher. Entries are closed at this stage with 34 men and 16 women from our
club registered to take part. These are record numbers at this exciting time for the
club. The ladies race starts at 13:00 and the men’s race kicks off at 13:45.
We are still very much seeking volunteers to help with this event on the day. We will
need stewards out on the course, help at the finish line. If you or friends/family have some time
available on Sunday to help out we would appreciate if you could make contact
through one of the following:

Duhallow 10 Mile Road Race Sunday 8 th Mar:
Four seasons in one race for the 399 people who completed this race in
Newmarket last Sunday. It was a very well organised event with Hiko Tonoso of
Dundrum South Dublin AC victorious for the 3rd year in a row, in a time of
50:28, and Linda Grogan of Dundrum AC also taking honours in a time of 1:02. 
West limerick AC was represented with big performances from 3 of our men:

Fedamore GAA Run Series – Final Week:
This 4-run series concluded last Wednesday evening with great participation
from some of the most determined West Limerick AC runners. The weather
conditions every week were severe but the fun was super:

Flying the Flag from Faraway Places:
Congratulations to two West Limerick AC members on their achievements last
Saturday 7th March. 

  1. Hughie Flood completed the hilly 10K Kinvara Rock and Road challenge in
  2. Michael Guiney went all the way to Krakow to get a Parkrun PB of 18:56.
    Keep inspiring us lads

2020 Membership
Reminder: All members need to complete and sign a hard copy membership
form in addition to the on-line registration. If outstanding please submit to one
of the committee members so that you/your child can complete in upcoming
events. See website for details: www.westlimerickac.ie
All memberships will be processed online through the Athletics Ireland website.
Club membership runs from Jan 1st until Dec 31 st .
Adult Membership:
Adult (over 18) membership is open and is €35.
Any person taking part in training organised by the club must be a club
member. This includes group interval training and Fit4Life training.
Juvenile Membership:
Juvenile membership for 2020 is now closed as we have reached
capacity. There is a waiting list in place should places become available in the
appropriate age category.

West Limerick AC Training
Our club training takes place every Tuesday night. Juveniles from 6pm to 7pm,
Adults from 7pm to 8pm, both at the Newcastle West GAA All Weather pitch. 
The Fit4Life section of the club meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm
outside the Courtney Boys School in Newcastle West.

Upcoming permit/Championship races:
March 15th: County 4 Mile, Drumcollogher
May 5th: Great Limerick Run, incorporating Munster Half and Full Marathon
