Bruff 5 Mile

The Bruff 5 mile was hosted by An Brú AC on Friday night last in very warm running conditions. Just over 130 took to the start line for the race which was won by Bilboa’s Declan Moore with Shona O Flynn first woman. We had 7 of our members running on the night with Karl Lenihan first home for the club in 29.51. It’s great to see Karl appearing at races recently and the race sharpness is beginning to return with plenty of summer racing to come. Following Karl we had race regular Paul Crotty in 37.05, Gerard Donovan 38.36, Richard Lenihan 38.52 and Malachy McCarthy 39.33. Tara Carr and Kate Murray were flying the flag for the West Limerick ladies and both ran well finishing in 42.32 and 43.13 respectively. Well done to our friends in An Brú AC on a well run event as always.

Kilcock 5K

Colum McCarthy was in action at the St Cocoa’s AC Kilcock 5K on Friday evening last. There was intense heat in the Co. Kildare town for this race which presented an unfamiliar challenge for most competitors. Nevertheless some excellent times were recorded and Colum had a super run clocking 17.12.
