John Treacy Dungarvan 10 Mile:
On Sunday over three thousand runners ran in this famous race in Dungarvan,
Co.Waterford. It was a highly competitive race with two new course records set.
The first was by Mick Clohisey (48:16) of Raheny Shamrocks and the second
was by Aoife Cooke (54:23) of Eagle AC.
There was plenty of interest from clubs in Limerick and John Kinsella of Bilboa AC
(54:25) was the first club runner from Limerick to finish the race. He was followed
very closely by our own Declan Guina in 54:27. It was another super run for Declan.
He was followed by club mates Ian Kelly 59:45, Marcella McGrath 1:15:42, Paul
Crotty 1:19:01, Audrey O Dwyer 1:23:57 and Jeni O Regan 1:25:33.
Milford Hospice 10K run/walk:
The annual Milford Hospice 10K run/walk was well supported by West Limerick
AC members today. The conditions were challenging at the start but spirits
were high as everyone gave their best for this wonderful organisation. Members
running were:
Martin Liston (41:36), Caroline Conroy O’Malley (43:17), Fiona Bourke (43:46),
Edel Henriques (46:52), Ray Mulcahy (49:28), Maeve Kenrick (50:34), Tara
Carr (50:58), Eileen O’Connor, Patricia Gayer, Theresa Walshe, Patricia
Collins, Úna McCormack, Derek Kendrick, Karl Lenihan, Mark Ryan and Declan
Lynch.

Coldwood 4 mile
Clíona Hurst and Diarmaid Lane ran in the Coldwood 4 mile race on Sunday
near Craughwell, Co.Galway.
Clíona’s first outing in the West Limerick colors. She was 2 nd woman overall.
Both finished in 27:27. Well done Clíona and Diarmuid!
Parkrun:
There were a number of club members running in the county Parkruns this weekend. Well
done to all. The fastest Parkrun runners overall in Limerick this weekend were Joe O’Brien
17:44 in Mungret Parkrun and Susan Murnane 19:50 of Limerick AC also in
Mungret Parkrun.

2020 Membership
Reminder: All members need to complete and sign a hard copy membership form in
addition to the on-line registration. If outstanding please submit to one of the
committee members so that you/your child can complete in upcoming events.
All memberships will be processed online through the Athletics Ireland website. Club
membership runs from Jan 1st until Dec 31 st .
Adult Membership:
Adult (over 18) membership is open and is €35.
Any person taking part in training organised by the club must be a club member. This
includes group interval training and Fit4Life training.
Juvenile Membership:
Juvenile membership for 2020 is now closed as we have reached capacity. There is a
waiting list in place should places become available in the appropriate age category.
We wish our athletes of all ages the best of luck as they represent and compete for the
club in the year ahead.
West Limerick AC Training
Our club training takes place every Tuesday night. Juveniles from 6pm to 7pm, Adults
from 7pm to 8pm, both at the Newcastle West GAA All Weather pitch.
The Fit4Life section of the club meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm outside the
Courtney Boys School.

Adare 10k 2020:
Our sold out Adare 10k takes place on Sunday February 23rd.
Numbers and T Shirts can be collected at race HQ (Adare Village Hall) on the weekend
of the race. Medals will be presented at the finish line.
As always there will be individual race prizes, age category and team prizes for
athletics clubs. There is a bonus of €100 if the course record is broken.
Course records: Rory O Connor 30:43 in 2019 and Barbara Cleary 36:00 in 2014.
