Amsterdam Half Marathon
 
The West Limerick AC colours were on tour in Amsterdam on Sunday where Mark and Trish Purcell took part in the Amsterdam Half Marathon. Both ran very well on the course which finishes in the Olympic Stadium with Mark finishing in 1.26 and Trish 1.56. It was great to see Trish back in the West Limerick colours after a very tough year with injury. Well done to both.
 
Munster Juvenile Cross Country Beaufort
 
Katie Lenihan was our sole juvenile representative at the Cross Country Championships in Beaufort on Sunday. Katie competed in the u10s event and ran very well. Well done to Katie.
 
Dromtrasna 10K
 
The Dromtrasna 10K took place on Saturday last with a huge crowd of over 1,000 taking up the challenge. Martin Lyons had an excellent run on the day taking second place overall. The club was very well represented throughout the field with numerous members taking part. Many of our fit for life members also conquered the 10K distance which was great to see. Well done to everyone who took part.
 
Analog Devices Adare 10k 2019
We are delighted to announce our Race T-Shirt & Finishers Medal for the Analog Devices Adare 10k 2019. The 25th anniversary of our road race will take place on Sunday February 24th at 1pm. Registration is limited to 850 participants. The entry fee remains at €20 plus booking fee.
We were SOLD OUT in 2017 and 2018 by mid January. 560 Entered as of 21/10/18.

The course remains the same as the past few years and we are delighted to announce that we will have race day t-shirts and a finishers medal for all 850 participants.
The race has an Athletics Ireland permit, the course is accurately measured by Jones counter and race timing will be provided by MyRunResults. Entry is for over 18’s only. It is the same entry fee for runners and walkers.
As this is our 25th anniversary we are looking forward to welcoming back our previous male and female winners from past races.
 
Adult Training
 

Senior training continues each Tuesday evening at 7pm on the Astro turf in the Desmense Newcastle West.  New members always welcome.

Juvenile Training

Juvenile training continues on the astro turf in the Desmense, Newcastle West at 6pm each Tuesday evening and on Thursday evening at the community centre Newcastle West. Juveniles have to be 6 years of age to take part in training and 8 years to compete in competitions. Parents are required to be present for the duration of training which is one hour. New members are always welcome.

Church Gate Collection

Our annual church gate collection in Newcastle West takes place on the weekend of Saturday December 1st and Sunday December 2nd. Any persons available to assist please contact club chairman Kevin o Donoghue on 085 7462413

Club Meeting

Our next club meeting takes place on Friday October 26th at 8pm in The Rathkeale House Hotel. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Our club AGM is set for Friday November 30th in The Rathkeale House Hotel at 8pm.

Save the date

Our club Christmas party 2018 will be on Saturday December 8th at the Silver Dollar Bar Newcastle West. More details to follow.
