Duhallow 10 mile road race:
The Duhallow 10 mile road race took place on Sunday and we had 3 of our west limerick athletes travel down to represent the club in very challenging weather conditions of heavy wind and rain. There was a large turnout of over 360 runners for this popular event which was very well organised by Duhallow AC. The race was won by Hika Tonosa in 52.19 and first woman home was Aoife Cooke in 56.45.
Brendan Costello had a fine run completing the 10 mile course in 108:18. He was followed by Con Mulcahy in 114:38. We had one female athlete Tara Carr who had a fantastic run also in 123.23. All did brilliant well done to everyone.
National Master Indoors
Club captain Ger Guina and Aogan McDomhnaill entered the National 1500m O35 race on Sunday. The lads have been training hard this year and raced at both the Munster and Connacht Indoors over the past few weeks. It was great to see Aogan come home with a national silver medal in a very competitive race. Well done to both on representing the club at national level.
Special mention must go to club coach Ger Cremin for his support and guidance. Ger running with An Riocht AC, won gold in 200m O40, silver in 400m O40, Gold in 60m hurdles and Gold in the relay.
Newcastle West: New club member Martin Liston (a regular at club training since the start of the year) continues to improve and finished the parkrun in 21.03. George O Sullivan also ran.
Limerick: Patricia McNamara and Edel Henriques ran in the Limerick Parkrun on Saturday.
Remember if you ran and are a club member just send us a message.
