The county Senior and intermediate cross country took place on Saturday last in Bilboa with West Limerick AC well represented in the men’s events. Our team of Declan Guina, Sean Cunningham, Ger Guina, Colum McCarthy, Michael Guiney and Eoin Mcauliffe all represented the club very well with Declan securing 1st place in the intermediate standings and Sean Cunningham 3rd. West Limerick AC took second team in both the senior and intermediate.
It was great to also see the club so well represented at underage with Josh Cummins , Keelin Carr, Rebecca Brouder, Sarah Benson and Maria Cagney all in action on the day. Sarah Benson unfortunately pulled up injured in the course of her race and we wish Sarah a speedy recovery. All performed very well on the day with Maria Cagney taking 3rd place in the girls U14 race. The cross country races are a great learning curve for all these young athletes and they deserve huge credit for taking on the challenge. Well done to all.
