Cahir Half Marathon and Relay:

This popular Half marathon and relay hosted by Mooreabbey AC milers took place in Cahir on Saturday and attracted a large field of athletes once again this year.

We had 2 West Limerick members travel and take part in the half marathon. Kevin Kelly ran the course in 1.34 and he was followed by John O’Connell in 1.39. Great running by the lads. Well done.

 Coillte 10k Road Race.

The Coillte 10k road race took place Wednesay night in Dundrum and there was a great turnout of over 230 athletes out to support this popular and well organised race in very warm weather conditions.

The race was won by David Mansfield from clonmel AC in 31.04.

We had great performances from west limerick on the night with Declan Guina leading the men home in 34.37. He was followed by Mark Lenihan in 38.19, Caroline Conroy 42.43, Marcella Mcgrath 46.27, Richard Lenihan 50.07 and Malachy McCarthy In 52.29.

Juvenile Membership

Due to the large numbers of juvenile members attending training on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have closed registration to new juvenile members for 2019. We have reached full capacity in our current facilities and in coaching ratios. We are currently looking for parents and/or people in West Limerick with an interest in athletics to obtain Garda Vetting and get involved with coaching in the club. If this is done we will be able to increase the numbers that can take part and we can offer more training to juveniles in our area.  West Limerick A.C. will pay for all necessary courses once a commitment is made to join the club and help in the juvenile section of our club.

Our current coaches are Mike Cussen, Tara Carr and Kevin O Donoghue along with assistant coaches Aogan MacDomhnaill, Aine Mawe and Micheal Rowsome.
