Gneeveguilla AC 1 mile race series
 
Colum McCarthy was crowned overall senior winner of the Gneeveguilla AC one mile race series after his 2nd pace finish in the final race on Wednesday evening last. Colum ran a very fast 4:53 and this coupled with his performances over the last number of weeks cemented Colums place at the top of the final standings.
Parkrun
 
The parkrun continues to be popular in the county and we had a number of runners take part on Saturday last. Kevin O Donoghue and Majella O Connor ran in Newcastle West while Ailbhe Dempsey ran the Limerick parkrun in a time of 22:25. The parkrun is a free timed event and open to everybody. Curraghchase 10K 2018
The Curraghchase 10K run/walk 2018 takes place on Saturday 18th August at 11am around the picturesque woodland area of Curraghchase forest park. This is always a popular and well supported event which caters for runners and walkers. Newcastle West Couch To 5K
Our Couch to 5K is going very well with big numbers each week. Everyone is enjoying it and the progress since day 1 has been exceptional. The group will continue to meet every Tuesday and Thursday in the Demesne from 8pm to 9pm.The goal is that each participant will complete a 5k in September. The 5K has now been chosen and will be the An Ríocht 5K in Castleisland on September 7th.
Cross Country Season
 
The cross country season is approaching quickly and this year West Limerick AC will be hosting the Senior, intermediate and uneven ages on Saturday October 6th in the Desmense, Newcastle West. The start time of this event is to be confirmed. Bilboa AC will be hosting the novice, masters and even ages on Sunday October 14th. Only registered club members can participate in these championship events.
Adult Training:

Our Tuesday night senior training sessions in the Desmense will return on the 4th of September after the summer break.

Juvenile Training 

Juvenile training is finished for a summer break. We will return on the 14th August in the Desmense, Newcastle West and all parents/guardians will be required to be present for the duration of training. The cross country season will be the focus of training when we return.
Club Meeting
Our next club meeting takes place on Wednesday August 29th at 8pm at The Rathkeale House Hotel. All club members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Adult Membership is currently open. If you have been a member of a different Athletics Club in the past 3 years a Transfer Form is required. Please contact us and we will assist with the transfer.
