Munster 4 Mile

This Championship race was held on Sunday in Dundrum, Co.Tipperary. The cold and wet conditions on hand on Sunday did not deter the large turnout for the Munster 4 Mile.  The facilities on hand were excellent and the volunteers/stewards were outstanding. They put in a great shift in awful weather to support all the runners on this fast course. Final results were not available at the time of writing but Sean Doyle An Bru Ac was the winner in the men’s race. West Limerick A.C.  were well represented on the day with Carmel MacDomhnaill, Mark Lenihan, Ian Kelly, Liam Hurrell, Micheal Guiney, Kevin O Donoghue, Malacky McCarthy, Bryan Hartnett and Jonathan Leniston. Well done to all for representing our club on the Munster stage. Thank you to our supporters on the day. We look forward to the Limerick County 4 Mile Championship race on March 24th in Kilmallock.

Leinster Indoors:

Well done to Colum McCarthy who this week ran as a guest in the Leinster Indoors 800m. Colum ran very well in a time of 2:08:30. It has been great to see our members competing in track events all over the country. The hard training since the start of the year is paying off for members on the track and road in 2019.

Kinvara 10K

Well done to Edel Henriques who travelled to Galway on Saturday and completed the Kinvara 10k in a fantastic time of 47.33.

Fedamore 5k

Well done to Declan Guina and Caroline Conroy who were first man and woman home in Fedamore 5k on Thursday last. Declan ran a time of 17.15 and Caroline in 20.59 . Both won trophies for their efforts.

Juvenile Training

Due to the large numbers of juvenile members attending training on Tuesdays and Thursdays we will have closed registration to new juvenile members We have reached full capacity in our current facilities and in coaching ratios. We are currently looking for parents and/or people in West Limerick with an interest in athletics to obtain Garda Vetting and get involved with coaching in the club so that we can support our current coaches and offer more training to juveniles in our area. We need your help if we are to continue our juvenile training. West Limerick A.C. will pay for all necessary courses once a commitment is made to join the club and help in the juvenile section of our club.
