Club Notes 03-07-2019


Dromcollogher 4 Mile:

There was great support from Athletics clubs in the area for this race on Monday night with 170 runners finishing the race.

The race was won by Sean Doyle of North Cork AC in a new course record of 19:38. It was a North Cork 1,2,3 with Damien Madigan and Jeremiah Sheehan finishing after Sean. Lisa Hegarty of Leevale AC was the first woman home in 24:50.

West Limerick AC was very well represented and we were lead home by Sean Cunningham in fourth place 22:26, Sean O Sullivan 25:39, George O Sullivan 25:44, Jerry Curtin 27:03, Gerard Donovan 27:23, Mike MacDomhnaill 27:30, Kevin O Donoghue 27:49, Liam O Sullivan 29:08, John Barrett 29:21, Jonathan Scanlon 29:59, Helen O Sullivan 30:14, Seamus Cawley 30:22, Richard Lenihan 30:47, Mary Folan Ryan 31:25, Carmel MacDomhnaill 32:51, Corina Sheehy 32:59, Declan Lynch 33:08, Malacky McCarthy 33:25, John Barrett 33:46, Michelle Lenihan 35:16, Noreen Dowd 39:00, Bridget Downes 39:20, Majella O Connor 40:06, Niamh Humphreys 40:22, Mary Ita O Connor 44:26.

An Bru AC 5 Mile:

This race on Friday night saw Declan Moore cross the line in first place in 25:39. Dymphna Ryan was first woman in 31.42.

Our members running on the night were Gerard O Donovan 35.05 and Paul Crotty 39.39. Well done

John Buckley Cork Graded League

Well done to Kevin O Donoghue and Liam Hurrell who headed to the CIT track in Cork on Friday to run the 800m. There were some excellent races at this open meet. Both set new pbs with Kevin finishing in 2:30:99 and Liam finishing in 2:31:73

Hell of the West:

Well done to club members Joanne Kelly, Rita Brouder, Karen O Brien, Edel Henriques and Audrey O Dwyer who completed this triathlon in Kilkee by Limerick Tri Club.

Cross Country

Cross Country Season is on the horizon. Please give it some thought. Your club captains Gerard Guina and Fiona Bourke will be able to advise you best on cross country preparation.
