Munster Outdoor Track and Field

On Sunday in Templemore we had some Adult members taking part in the track events. The facility was in excellent condition and the volunteers from Templemore and Munster Athletics put on an excellent event.

From a club perspective the day started with Kevin O Donoghue running in the 800m. Kevin ran a pb of 2.32 to finish as 2nd O35. Siobhan Kelly has been making a welcome return to action in 2019 and set pb’s in both the 100m and 200m races. In the evening events Carmel MacDomhnaill ran the 400m and 1500m, collecting gold medals in both category races. Finishing out the day was Micheal Guiney. Micheal has been in great form lately and won silver O35 in the 1500m.

Well done to all. It is great to see our members racing in Munster championship races.

There were some excellent results from other Limerick athletes on the day as well and we would like to congratulate them on their performances also.

Juvenile Membership

Due to the large numbers of juvenile members attending training on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have closed registration to new juvenile members for 2019. We have reached full capacity in our current facilities and in coaching ratios. We are currently looking for parents and/or people in West Limerick with an interest in athletics to obtain Garda Vetting and get involved with coaching in the club. If this is done we will be able to increase the numbers that can take part and we can offer more training to juveniles in our area.  West Limerick A.C. will pay for all necessary courses once a commitment is made to join the club and help in the juvenile section of our club.

Our current coaches are Mike Cussen, Tara Carr and Kevin O Donoghue along with assistant coaches Aogan MacDomhnaill, Aine Mawe and Micheal Rowsome.
