West Limerick Ac Notes 26/9/81

Novice and Underage Cross Country

On Sunday Bilboa hosted an excellent day out for the juveniles and adults.

Firstly the Girls u/18 team were gold winners cross country with individual results of Kate Downes 2nd, Sophie Moroney 4th, Grace O Donnell 5th & Sinead Woulfe 6th. It was great running by the girls and just reward for the training they put in. Marie Cagney ran very well to finish in 2nd place and come home with a silver medal in under the 12 race.

Novice Men’s Cross Country
Our mens Novice team were lead home by 5th David Richardson and 6th Declan Guina. Mark Purcell, Eoin McAuliffe and Shane Quill all ran to win West Limerick the team bronze medals.
John Kinsella of Bilboa AC won the individual race on his home patch while the team was won by Limerick AC and closely followed by An Bru.

Important Notice:
The Senior Cross Country takes place in UL next Sunday. Anyone who wishes to participate must notify their team captains Martina Ahern and Declan Guina by Wednesday 28th. There are no excuses for not letting them know on time.

Tralee 24/12/6 hour endurance race

Derek Mackessy completed his latest 24 hour race this weekend. Derek reached just over 100 miles in the 24 hours.

 

Killarney 10 mile Race

Well done to Tara Carr and Ide Curtin on completing this 10 mile race in 1:33. The funds from the race are being used to build a track in Killarney. A very worthy cause to promote athletics for the community.

 
Dublin City Half Marathon
A record number of entrants of 9000 took part in this year’s dublin half marathon. Seamus Cawley was fresh from the Charleville Half-Marathon last week and completed the course in dublin in 1:41. It was also great to see our former secretary Patricia McNamara taking part. One famous face spotted participating was ex Ireland football international Damien Duff.

SUN 16-Oct County inter, Masters and Uneven juvenile age group Bilboa 12noon

SUN 23-Oct Munster Novice/U23 and Even juvenile age group cork venue 11am
SUN 13-Nov Munster Senior/Junior and uneven juvenile age group Limerick racecourse 11am
SUN 20-Nov Munster Masters and inter club. Relays 10,12,14,16 Waterford venue 11am
SUN 4-Dec Munster intermediate and Juvenile “B” Clare venue 11am

SUN 27-Nov Glohealth national inter club and Juvenile even age TBA
SUN 11-Dec Glohealth national Novice and Juvenile uneven age TBA

Club AGM:

The AGM will be held on November 25th.

Christmas Party:

The annual Christmas party has been fixed for Saturday November 26th. Book your babysitters.
