Listowel Crusaders Half-Marathon
This past Saturday there was an excellent race held in Listowel, Co.Kerry. The birthplace of the great writer John B Keane turned into a festival of colour with the singlets and t shirts from all the different participants. Among those were our own green and white of West Limerick AC. Derek Mackessy ran it in 1:45:31, Paul Crotty 1:46:38, Tara Carr 1:54:56, Ide Curtin 2:04:06 and David Wrenne 2:05:14.
Munster Uneven Age Cross Country
Patrickswell was the venue on Sunday. The conditions were real cross country with the ground challenging for all those involved. Our girls U17 team of Sophie Moroney, Kate Downes, Grace O Donnell and Sinead Woulfe competed and gave everything on the day. Well done girls on competing with the best in Munster.
Munster Senior Cross Country
These races were also held in Patrickswell. Our ladies who competed on the day were Edel Henriques and Ailbhe Dempsey.
The men on our team were Declan Guina, Ger Guina, Mike Sheehy and Declan McCarthy. It was great to see Mike and Declan back in action in the club colours again. Well done to all juvenile and senior members on turning out this weekend. The races through the mud will stand to each one of one in the races ahead.
Results not available at time of going to press. We will update once they are published.
